Pressgang Mutiny

Pressgang Mutiny are Toronto’s Shantymen, dedicated to travelling the globe to discover shanties and works songs and the people who sing them. Since forming in 2013, they have toured extensively across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, performing at major folk festivals and maritime events.

They are known for their powerful harmonies and deep respect for tradition, blending historical material with a contemporary edge.

The group has released three albums: “Pressgang Mutiny” (2016) and “Across the Western Ocean” (2020)—both of which were reissued in early 2025—and their most recent album, “Departure,” which came out in early 2026.
