Nathan Ali is an established songwriter and performing artist from London, Ontario. Growing up with a single mother and later in foster homes within a community facing ongoing cycles of poverty and violence, Nathan found solace and escape in writing lyrics and songs for the future.
In his early 20s, he discovered that his father and late uncle were members of the legendary Funk Brothers from Detroit–a group of Motown session musicians backing most of the genre’s recordings between 1959 and 1972. After getting a chance to reconnect with his father, Nathan was newly inspired to pursue music professionally, blending the iconic sounds of his father’s musical legacy with contemporary urban, rap, and R&B.
