Brandon Robertson

Brandon Robertson is a notable upright/electric bassist from Tampa, Florida. In 2009, he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a focus on Jazz Studies. In the same year, Brandon became a member of the popular Florida-based jazz trio The Zach Bartholomew Trio. The trio had the prestige honor of being part of the exclusive inaugural band for the Governor of Florida, Rick Scott. In 2012, Brandon released his first album with the Zach Bartholomew Trio entitled, Out of This Town.

As a prominent bandleader, Brandon has taken his band on multiple national tours, headlining at some of the top jazz venues in the country, such as The Palladium, Open Stage, Blues Alley, Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase, The Jazz Kitchen, Cliff Bells, and NightTown.  To add to his impressive resume, Brandon has performed with notable acts such as The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra led by director Scotty Barnhart, Laila Biali (2019 JUNO Award Winner), Jason Marsalis, Marcus Roberts, Marty Morell (Drummer of Pianist Bill Evans: 1968-1974), Vocalist Carla Cook (Grammy Nominee NYC Singer), Dan Miller (Former Member of The Harry Connick Jr. Big Band), and Lew Del Gatto (Former Member of the SNL Band).

Brandon is a current member of the Dan Miller/Lew Del Gatto Quartet, and performs regularly with national and international artists from around the country. He also currently holds the positions as the Instructor of Jazz Studies and Director of the FGCU Basketball Band at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL. Brandon was nominated in 2018 for an EMMY® Award for best documentary for educational collegiate programs featuring the FGCU Jazz Ensemble. Brandon is set to release his first recording, Bass’d on A True Story, September 13^th, 2019.
