Vancouver recording artist Friedrick Ryan is making moves to liven up the dancefloor once again this Spring with two new mixes.
Friedrick, who was born in the Philippines to Chinese national parents, moved to the serene Canadian west coast at an early age and was deeply influenced by the integral part that music played in his home life. As a teen he gravitated towards the stage as a performer and was later cast in scores of theatrical productions around the Vancouver metropolis, becoming enthralled by the training, discipline, and dedication it took to put on a quality production. Through his involvement in the theatre arts Friedrick came in contact with songwriter and award winning Canadian poet Samuel B. Peralta who became one of his early mentors. As their relationship cemented Peralta & Ryan began to pen songs and joined forces with Vancouver hip-hop/dance producer B. Morales (The Rascalz, Stef Lang, Craig Smart) to record a number of dance demo tracks.
In 2012, Friedrick began to focus on crafting his own artistic vision through collaborating with Canadian songwriters Aileen De La Cruz (Cymba Music) and Stef Lang (Nettwerk Music group) and top Canadian producers B. Morales, Murray Daigle (Serena Ryder, Neverest, Keshia Chante), and Ian Smith (Producer of YTV’s The Next Star). In 2015 he released his debut single “Breathless” as a free download after hitting 20,000 followers on twitter.
In early 2016, Friedrick dropped his sophomore follow up, “Love On The Dance Floor”. The song made waves in Europe, charting Top 10 on the Deejayworx Europe Dance Chart as well as in the US where it achieved Top 15 status on the prestigious Starfleet Dance & Crossover charts. Not to be satisfied with a single dance hit, Friedrick followed up ‘Dance Floor’ with the emotionally intense EDM banger, “All Over Again”. With a deep house remix provided by DASCO, the track also reached as high as #32 on the Deeyjayworx Top 100 International Dance Chart and Top 10 Status on the Starfleet Dance & Crossover charts.
In 2017, Friedrick continued to push the sound barriers in dance music further on his single “Glow”. Friedrick set out to infiltrate the charts with slick production by Canadian power producer Murray Daigle, a highly stylized music video directed by acclaimed Canadian director Jae (Ultra Music, Armada Records, Spinnin’ Records, and Universal), and an incredible house remix courtesy of American dance music legend Eric Kupper. “Glow” found itself as the #1 Breakout Track in July 2017 on Soundworks Record Pool and within the Top 50 Regional Charts for North America, Asia, Europe, Oceania, South America, and Africa on Musicworx.
Friedrick’s latest release, “I Can Give It to You” provides listeners with two tracks—both the original mix as well as a fresh and fast paced remix from L.A.’s Schier, AKA Kole Butler. With remixes of Rebecca Black’s “Satellite” and DYLN’s “Better Things” in his discography, Schier brings the same high-quality production to “I Can Give It to You”. Once again collaborating with prolific Canadian songwriter, Aileen de la Cruz, and producer B. Morales, Friedrick’s new music will leave listeners unable to resist the temptation of grooving and dancing from wherever they stand.
